This is a tried-and-true recipe for which you’ll receive praise all the time. The funny thing is that the recipe is taken just from the Karo corn syrup bottle. There’s just a little more vanilla and pecans. Surprise your family with this scrumptious Pecan Pie.
- 1 cup corn syrup,
- 3 whisked eggs,
- 1 cup sugar,
- 2 tbsp butter, melted,
- 2 tsp vanilla,
- 2 cups pecans, whole or cut.
- Make the Basic Pie Dough for a 9-inch single-crust pie, crimped.
- Make the Filling: Stir together all ingredients in a large bowl. Pour into the unbaked pie shell.
- Bake at 425 degrees for 20 minutes, then reduce to 375 degrees and continue baking for 30–40 minutes. You can check if the pie is baked by jiggling the pie dish a little. If the filling doesn’t jiggle too much, then it’s done. The top may also rise a little, which tells that the filling has cooked.
